The Academy
At the heart of Karori Dance Academy is Principal and teacher Christina, whose dedication to excellence, artistry, and education shapes the culture of the academy. Teaching Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary, Christina is passionate about inspiring dancers to achieve their personal best while discovering the confidence, creativity, discipline, and lifelong joy that dance can bring. She believes every student deserves to feel valued, supported, and encouraged in an environment where they can flourish both as dancers and as individuals.
Dance Training
Christina attended a dancing course at the Tanya Pearson Dance Academy in Sydney and completed a year’s professional training at Te Auaha, NZ. A qualified and dedicated teacher, Christina has passed Pre Associate 1 & 2 with Distinction. She holds the prestigious Fellowship qualification with the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA)—one of the highest teaching qualifications awarded by the association. Throughout her training, she achieved Distinction in all major IDTA examinations and was honoured to receive the IDTA New Zealand Scholarship on two occasions, reflecting her exceptional dedication and achievement.
With a genuine passion for nurturing the next generation of dancers, Christina is committed to providing exceptional dance education within a warm, welcoming, and inspiring studio environment. Whether guiding a young dancer through their very first class or mentoring students preparing for advanced examinations and performance opportunities, she approaches every lesson with professionalism, care, and a belief in each student’s unique potential.
Under Christina’s leadership, Karori Dance Academy is a place where excellence is pursued with kindness, tradition is embraced alongside creativity, and every student is encouraged to develop not only outstanding dance technique but also confidence, resilience, grace, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.
More than a dance school, Karori Dance Academy is a community where lasting friendships are formed, achievements are celebrated, and every dancer is welcomed as part of the studio family.
